Indigo Adventures runs custom trips in and around the water, from Panama to Alaska. In Baja that means fishing and spearfishing charters, freediving excursions and whale watching, based in El Pescadero. Depending on the trip and where it runs, we bring in guides, trainers, cooks, captains and deckhands rather than one fixed crew, and we build the day around the group.
How the crew works
Depending on the needs of the group and the location of the adventure, we engage guides, trainers, cooks, captains and assistants per trip. Colin or Beto guides every day of a multi-day package. You will know who is running your boat before you step aboard.
What we will not promise
Fish. Whales outside mid December to April. A launch at Punta Lobos on a day the surf shuts it down. Visibility. We will say which trip fits and which one does not, and we would rather show you nothing than show you a stock photo.

Every trip is built rather than booked off a shelf. Colin puts the boat, the captain and the ground together to match who is coming and what they want from the day, and he works with a roster of guides, trainers, cooks, captains and deckhands rather than one fixed crew. He is the one who calls you about weather and sea conditions before the trip.
Where we are, and what that means.
Indigo Adventures is based in El Pescadero, on the Pacific side of Baja California Sur, a few minutes south of Todos Santos and about an hour north of Cabo San Lucas on Highway 19. We are not a Cabo marina operation, though two of our boats leave from Cabo. That distinction decides which water we can reach on a given day and how early you have to be up.

What we run is fishing and spearfishing charters, freediving excursions and whale watching. Five boats, from a 24 foot panga that launches through the surf at Punta Lobos to a 35 foot sportfisher that leaves from the Cabo San Lucas Marina. Where you meet us depends on which boat runs your trip, so read a trip page and the fleet page together.
We will tell you when your timing is wrong. Whales are here roughly mid December to April and not in August. Some weeks the north wind decides the day for us. If the trip you want does not suit the dates you have, you will hear that before you book rather than at six in the morning on a beach.
We almost never run split charters, so the boat is yours and your group. A 50 percent deposit holds a date. Mexican fishing licences are not included, every angler buys their own and we will help you arrange it. Prices on this site are the boat prices from our booking system, and the final price depends on the boat and the launch point.
Half day to multi-day, close in or out on the banks. Breath-hold spearfishing on a strict buddy system, because it is the only legal way to spearfish in Mexico.
Freediving taught calm and slow. Humpbacks and greys from mid December to April, engine off at the legal distance.
Reef fish in the bays along the corridor, sea lions at Land's End, and a slow pace that suits families and nervous swimmers.

No. Everyone fishing in Mexican waters needs a Mexican sportfishing licence, and each angler buys their own. We help you arrange it before the day so nobody is sorting paperwork on the dock. The same licence covers rod and spear.
Rarely. Almost every trip goes out as a private boat for you and your group. If a split makes sense for a small party we will say so when you enquire.
Three on the 24 foot Punta Lobos panga, up to four on La Ruca and La Morita, and up to six on Don Pancho and El Wahoo King. Whale watching numbers run a little higher because nobody is swinging a rod.
Yes. The catch goes home with you. Filleting at the dock, vacuum sealing and freezing are available, and most guests fly home with a cooler. Marlin are mostly released, with judgement on the day.
Yes, on fishing days. The crew rigs and handles the gear and hands you the rod when something eats. Guided spearfishing needs breath-hold experience and runs on a strict buddy system, which is the only legal way to spearfish in Mexico. Water, ice and snacks are normally aboard.
