★★★★★I took my 8 year old son out with Colin this past weekend and he didn't dissapoint... We saw humpback whales up close and personal, caught a ton of fish, saw thresher sharks jumping, marlin jumping. Not only did we catch, he taught my son how things work and why they work... I will not go out with anyone else. And we go to Cabo at least 4 times a year, for the past 13 years. Colin is the best, hands down!
★★★★★Very fun trip with Colin. He was responsive to calling and texting the night before our adventure and set us up with a great Captain Beto who took us into the sea of cortez and we caught 20 fish including a massive Dorado! Highly recommend will be fishing with them for all future adventures in baja
★★★★★We went with a very knowledgeable and friendly guide to fish and spearfish. He knew the water very well, knew the fish and even loaned us gear when lost a fin! :)... He took us to catch bait, then troll by some good spots and finally ended up freediving along a beautiful reef. great fun for the whole family!
★★★★★We couldn't have asked for a better guide, Colin is a great guy and is super helpful. He knew all aspects of Spearfishing, the best locations, unique techniques and provided a memorable experience. Highly recommend Colin for any adventure.
★★★★★Great experience all around, from booking to lodging, food, fishing, transportation. Did a great job setting a trip up customized to what we wanted to do. They can set up a trip in most of Baja, whether it's Pacific side or East Cape.
Originally planned to spearfish but conditions didn't agree, was able to switch up to fishing for 3 days and was able to fish for many different species with success. Great food and lodging was set up and Colin took care of all aspects and anything we needed during our stay.
Super knowledgeable about area, setting up another trip for late summer, only adventure company we will be using in Baja in the future, highly recommend.
★★★★★This adventure was great fun from start to finish, from the unconventional start to the exciting finish. Our captain and mate were helpful and great at pointing out whales, rays, turtles and seal lions as well as magnificent shorelines. We really appreciated the communication from Colin regarding weather and sea conditions. Definitely a highlight of our trip.
★★★★★We spent three days on the Lucky Seven. My partner is a fish and I am definitely not. I was nervous but Colin's professionalism and relaxed demeanor made me feel at ease. I was able to jump in the water and snorkel while everyone else dove down for fish. It was perfect for us both even at different levels and I'm incredibly grateful for the experience. Colin is a gem of a human and it's reflected in how he handles his business, communicates with everyone and respects nature. I really can't say enough good things about Indigo Adventures! If you're lucky enough to adventure with him you'll find out.
★★★★★In summary, Indigo Adventures is a client-oriented adventure guide service that is safe, flexible, knowlegeable, sustainable, and very experienced. I'd hire them again in a heartbeat.
A couple friends and I hired Indigo Adventures to take us on a 7 day spearfishing trip in Baja in June 2018. I won't hesitate to choose Indigo and Collin again. Collin is very knowledgeable in the fishing scene all around Baja and is able to be flexible with when and where diving occurs to make sure his clients have the best experience possible.
During our stay, Hurricane/Tropical Storm Bud hit and the place where Collin originally had planned for us fell right in the middle of that storm. Indigo Adventures was able to take the boat out of the water and move it to a totally different part of Baja so that we could get as many spearo days as possible.
Collins knowledge of the many reefs and pinnacles was amazing as was his ability to interact with local pangaros and get information about what was being caught and where. Indigo Adventures has a very good relationship with the local communities and fishermen. He’s conscious about the locals’ needs and pays his pangaros well so that they want to keep working for him and do their best.
Spearing and freediving with Colin was also great. He is a great diver, often dropping to 100 feet plus to just see if fish were down there or report on the conditions of the reef. He was able to give us tips and tricks for spearing the different species of fish and put us in positions to target either reef fish or blue water species depending on the current conditions.
The boat Indigo Adventures uses is very well equipped and very capable is a variety of conditions. Its 26 feet long and had all the modern electronics and safety gear. He had a new 4-stroke outboard engine was well taken care of and pushed us through any chop with ease. With this boat, he can run 30+ miles and launch at most ramps. His boat captain (pangaro) drove the boat well and was very safe and attentive when we were diving.
The manner in which Indigo Adventures dealt with local ‘politics’ and land-based safety was great. We did have run-ins with local policia who were expecting some kind of payment. Collins was able to talk fluently and respectfully with them to get out of the situation without a hitch, except for the short roadside delay. Collin also has a history of personal protection and at no point during the trip did I feel unsafe.
★★★★★My boyfriend and some friends and family and I went out on the boat with Colin for a whale shark snorkeling day trip. We not only saw and swam with quite a few whale sharks but spent time on an almost empty beach nearby only accessible by boat. We had tons of fun and a Colin is a knowledgeable and friendly guide!
★★★★★My boyfriend and I went for a half day fishing adventure with Riggo. He was very knowledgeable about the area and helped us land about 11 fish. Apparently it was a slow day and other boats weren't getting anything so we were pleased with our results. Would definitely recommend Riggo and Indigo Adventures for anyone looking for a great day on the water.
★★★★★I've been utilizing Indigo Adventures for several years now and feel qualified to share my opinion regarding what makes a baja charter a success. 1: Local communication and relationships. People have to remember, things go south with gear, boat parts, etc. It's not like one can make a quick run to a nearby store. one is often in remote locations with no cell / wifi. Your charter should be able to speak the language fluently and have a local network. Colin respects the local community and has forged lasting relationships. This mutual respect provides access to cherished locations with a network of boats to share information. 2: Experience and knowledge: Don't tell Colin i said this, but dude knows his stuff. Read his bio regarding his background, but this guy knows the ocean, boats, navigation, fishing, etc. He walks the walk. He's put so much time in the water scouting pinnacles, conditions, currents, etc. He's told me more than once, "get ready (blank) is about to happen....." Only to witness with my eyes what he had just predicted moments prior. When it comes to the ocean and his diving ability, Colin is first rate. 3: A passion that one cares to share: Colin is at home on the sea. Often charter captains are working non-stop, before and after a trip. You need a tireless individual that is dead set on delivering the best product he/she can. Colin has the energy and passion to share his knowledge and make you a better fisherman / diver. Location: divers and fisherman know this well. Location, location, location.. Colin has worthy electronics and can take you to spots that produce. Whether on the pacific side or navigating the sea of cortez, Colin has the coordinates that guarantee your best shot at success.
Just a quick note about a recent 5 day adventures with Indigo. Colin found us the perfect live-a-board to suit our every need. For daily excursions, we used Colin's Lucky 7 (great boat). He took us to 4 different locations that all produced: tuna, amber jacks, yellow tail, grouper, etc. We sat on the water with killer whales, ate the most amazing food, viewed breathtaking sunsets and, most importantly, bonded with great friends. I'd like to keep Colin a secret, to drive rates down, but everyone should have an opportunity explore Baja with a real pro!
★★★★★It is often tough to please teens and tweens but Colin's Indigo Adventures was the perfect end to our stay in the Todos Santos area of Baja. We loved exploring off the beaten path and our fishing and snorkeling excursion with Colin was wonderful. The launch and landing were so amazing that we will be talking about it for years. The kids were disappointed when it was over and that is the best way to leave any adventure....wanting more (and some fish to cook for dinner too). Don't miss the opportunity to really enjoy the beautiful coastline and a great adventure with Colin. He is an amazing guide/host with an impressive knowledge of Baja and a respect for the local fisherman and the ocean. This should be a must do on any trip to Baja!
★★★★★My son and I went fishing with Colin and would recommend him to everyone. He is a degreed fishing management major and knows all the tricks. He is personable funny patient and we were one of the few that caught fish. Caught two yellow fun tuna
★★★★★Indigo Adventures is hands down the best Baja experience. It's worth every dollar (and then some!). Colin is an absolute expert when it comes to the Baja coast, as well as a world class free diver and spear fisherman. His coastal knowledge is infinite, and he's so stoked to help, guide and train any skill level.
We took a one day trip with Colin and Juan Carlo, which included rod and reel fishing, spearfishing, surfing, cold beer and homemade ceviche. We saw breaching whales, sea turtles and ended the day with tons of fish, including blue fin tuna and a massive pargo.
To top it all off, there's really not a better dude out there. Colin is the man, and Indigo Adventures is a must-do.
★★★★★Colin and his crew put together the perfect trip for us. They are respectful of the seas, close with locals and Colin's knowledge of fishing was as inspiring as it was impressive.
We went on the water with Indigo Adventures a few days during our stay near Cabo after we were introduced to the company by a local person. From beginning to end, our experience was flawless. There was nothing missing or which could have gone better.
A nice bonus was our faithful canine companion, Ruca, who was as excited and happy as we were.
We would recommend Indigo Travel Adventures to anyone considering them for the most unreal fishing trip in Mexico.
★★★★★Used Colin after a recommendation from a friend and after seeing the other reviews here. Had a great trip and would definitely recommend to others. Colin has a tremendous amount of knowledge about the area. He has relationships with other captains and is able to get a good idea of where the fish are that day. Even though we went during a time of year when the fishing isn't so good, he was still able to put us on some fish. We were able to catch a few yellow-fin tuna. At the end of the trip he filleted one for us so that we could take it back to our resort for dinner. Was some of the best fish that we have had. I would definitely recommend Indigo Adventures.
★★★★★My wife and I agree that the trip we had with Indigo Adventures is one of, if not the best, trips we have had abroad...and it's in our backyard!
Colin helped us set up a trip that involved 2 days of fishing (my want), and two days of touring local towns (my wife's want), and a day of snorkeling with whale sharks in La Paz (bucket list for us both). The whole time, Colin was enthusiastic, knowledgable, and ORGANIZED. Honestly, we would have probably been lost and confused without his help.
Our fishing trip and snorkeling experiences wer a huge success. I was able to land a 400+ pound black marlin and 2 yellowfin tuna over 80 pounds. During the snorkeling portion, we saw hammerhead sharks, tuna, and tons of bait fish and rays. All that in two days of fishing and snorkeling!
My wife loved seeing the various small towns including La Paz and Constitucion. There was a town event in Constitucion, and everyone came out for a big parade that we were able to watch. So fun.
In La Paz, Colin set us up with an eco tour charter that he knew well, and we were able to go snorkeling with whale sharks for about two hours. It was totally, totally mindblowing. We had clear waters and about 6 different whale sharks come by. We have been wanted to swim with them for years, and finally got it done!
Altogether, it was the trip of a lifetime for us and we can't wait to go back.
★★★★★This is far and away the best experience I have ever had in Baja. My fiance and I went spearfishing with Colin and had an unbelievable experience. Colin is a pro waterman (world class free diver) and he took great care of us, putting us on to some awesome fish.
The boat (book Lucky 7 if you can) is super clean, comfy, and safe. We trolled for gamefish on the way out to the dive spot and then had an unbelievable day of diving. Colin is an awesome guide for any skill level and knows the Baja coast better than anyone. Book this trip you will not be disappointed!
★★★★★There's a lot to consider when heading offshore for fishing or diving. This year we decided we weren't interested unless we had solid references from someone we trusted and that's how we found Colin! Safe, professional, hyper knowledgeable, and a talented fish guide. We had a great day, caught a lot of fish, and learned soooo much. Looking forward to going again. Thanks Colin!
★★★★★If you're looking for adventure, Indigo Adventures is the way to go. They offer a variety of different tours that fit exactly what you are looking for. I found the staff incredibly knowledgable and accommodating. I've gone on a variety of excursions with Indigo Adventures including: camping, diving, spearfishing, snorkeling, dirt biking, and kayaking. The guide takes you to his favorite areas of Baja and as you go along on an adventure he shares different stories, knowledge and even recipes with you. I look forward to the next adventure! Thank you Indigo Adventures!

The short version of how a trip with Indigo Adventures works. Licences, deposits, boats and what happens to your catch. The full FAQ has the rest.
Read the full FAQ→Indigo Adventures is based in El Pescadero, on the Pacific side of Baja California Sur, a few minutes south of Todos Santos. Boats launch from three points: Punta Lobos beach in Todos Santos, San Jose del Cabo, and the Cabo San Lucas Marina. Which boat runs your trip decides where you meet us.
Custom fishing and spearfishing charters, freediving excursions and whale watching from mid December to April. Every trip is built around your group, your dates and the conditions rather than a fixed timetable, and almost every one goes out private.
Book online on the Book Now page, where availability is live and a 50 percent deposit holds the date. If you would rather we picked the trip, send an enquiry with who is coming, when you are here and what you want out of the day, and we will say which trip fits and which one does not.
No. Everyone fishing in Mexican waters needs a Mexican sportfishing licence, and each angler buys their own. We help you arrange it before the day so nobody is sorting paperwork on the dock. The same licence covers rod and spear.
Rarely. Almost every trip goes out as a private boat for you and your group. If a split makes sense for a small party we will say so when you enquire.
Three on the 24 foot Punta Lobos panga, up to four on La Ruca and La Morita, and up to six on Don Pancho and El Wahoo King. Whale watching numbers run a little higher because nobody is swinging a rod.
Yes. The catch goes home with you. Filleting at the dock, vacuum sealing and freezing are available, and most guests fly home with a cooler. Marlin are mostly released, with judgement on the day.
Yes, on fishing days. The crew rigs and handles the gear and hands you the rod when something eats. Guided spearfishing needs breath-hold experience and runs on a strict buddy system, which is the only legal way to spearfish in Mexico. Water, ice and snacks are normally aboard.
