Multi-Day Baja Package

Multi-Day Baja Package

Several days on the water with lodging, food and transport arranged. The plan moves with the weather, which is the point of booking days rather than a morning.

Several days on the water, built around you rather than around a schedule. We arrange the lodging, the food, the ground transport and the guiding, and we move the plan to follow the conditions. This is the trip most people mean when they say they want to fish Baja properly rather than buy a morning out.

What we actually mean by a package

You tell us how many days you have, what you want to catch or shoot, and how hard you want to work. We build the days around that and we handle the parts that are difficult to sort out from another country. Where you sleep, what you eat, how you get from one coast to the other, which boat you are on and who is guiding you. You arrive, and the logistics are already solved.

The core of it is that nothing is fixed until the weather says it is. We have started trips planned around spearfishing, found the water would not allow it, and turned them into three days of fishing instead. Nobody lost a day. That flexibility is the whole point of booking several days rather than one, and it only works because we are not tied to a single boat, a single ramp or a single coast.

Where we go

Most of Baja is reachable inside one trip. Our home water is the Pacific side out of Todos Santos and El Pescadero, where the boats launch off the beach at Punta Lobos and the offshore banks are a real run out. From there we can move you to the Sea of Cortez for warmer, calmer water, or north to the East Cape toward Los Frailes and Cabo Pulmo. Which of those you get is a conversation, not a menu. A week of north wind pushes us to one coast. A flat late summer week opens up the other.

Cabo Pulmo is worth understanding early if it is on your list. It is a no take national marine park and fishing there is prohibited, full stop. We go there to snorkel and to look at what a protected reef looks like after decades of protection, and that is all we do there.

How the planning works

The useful work happens weeks before you land. We want to know what you have fished before, what you have never done, who is coming, who gets seasick, who cannot swim, and what would make the trip a success in your own words. Some people want one specific fish. Some want to eat well and be on the water. Some want their teenager to catch something and are not fussy what.

  • How many days you have, including your arrival and departure days, which are rarely usable
  • Whether you want fishing, spearfishing, or a mix across the days
  • Your group size and how much everyone actually wants to be out there
  • Any fixed commitments we have to plan around
  • One person we call in the morning when a decision needs making

Closer to the dates we start talking about weather and sea conditions honestly. If it looks poor, you will hear that from us before you get on a plane, not on the beach at six in the morning. We would rather reshape a trip early than defend a bad decision later.

What the days are like

Early starts, most days. Long hours in sun and wind. Road time between coasts on days when we move you. Eating late because you got in late. It is a holiday, but it is not a resort holiday, and by the third or fourth day people feel it. That is normal and it is worth building one slower day into a longer trip rather than pretending you will be fresh on day six.

The upside of consecutive days is that you stop being a visitor. You learn a piece of coast instead of sampling it. You get second and third chances at the thing that went wrong on day one. You fish through a change in conditions and see why it mattered. One good day out of four is common on a single trip and frustrating. Over several days it stops being the whole story.

Your catch

What you keep is yours to take home. We clean and fillet it properly, and we can vacuum seal and freeze it so it travels. Say early in the trip if you want to fly fish home, because it changes how we handle the last two days. What each airline will accept in checked baggage is your homework, not ours.

Who should not book this

People who want a resort with a boat attached. People who need certainty about what happens on which day, because we will move things and that is the product. Anyone who cannot spend consecutive days in strong sun and moving water, or who is travelling with somebody who cannot. Groups where only one person actually wants to fish and the rest are being dragged along, because several days makes that worse rather than better. And anyone whose trip only works if they catch a specific fish, since we will not promise that over one day or over six.

Booking and the parts still being confirmed

A 50% deposit is normally required to hold dates, and multi-day trips need locking in well ahead because they take boats, guides and rooms out of the calendar at once. Trip lengths and daily start times are still being confirmed. Pricing is still being confirmed. Which lodging we use and what standard it is are still being confirmed. What meals are covered in a given package is still being confirmed. Cancellation, refund and rescheduling terms are still being confirmed, and we will give you those in writing rather than have you infer them from a web page.

Straight answers to the questions every guest asks.

The short version of how a trip with Indigo Adventures works. Licences, deposits, boats and what happens to your catch. The full FAQ has the rest.

Read the full FAQ
Where is Indigo Adventures based, and where do trips leave from?
+

Indigo Adventures is based in El Pescadero, on the Pacific side of Baja California Sur, a few minutes south of Todos Santos. Boats launch from three points: Punta Lobos beach in Todos Santos, San Jose del Cabo, and the Cabo San Lucas Marina. Which boat runs your trip decides where you meet us.

What kinds of trips do you run?
+

Custom fishing and spearfishing charters, freediving excursions, whale watching from mid December to April, and kayaking. Every trip is built around your group, your dates and the conditions rather than a fixed timetable, and almost every one goes out private.

How does booking work?
+

Book online on the Book Now page, where availability is live and a 50 percent deposit holds the date. If you would rather we picked the trip, send an enquiry with who is coming, when you are here and what you want out of the day, and we will say which trip fits and which one does not.

Is a Mexican fishing licence included?
+

No. Everyone fishing in Mexican waters needs a Mexican sportfishing licence, and each angler buys their own. We help you arrange it before the day so nobody is sorting paperwork on the dock. The same licence covers rod and spear.

Do you run shared or split charters?
+

Rarely. Almost every trip goes out as a private boat for you and your group. If a split makes sense for a small party we will say so when you enquire.

How many people fit on a boat?
+

Three on the 24 foot Punta Lobos panga, up to four on La Ruca and La Morita, and up to six on Don Pancho and El Wahoo King. Whale watching numbers run a little higher because nobody is swinging a rod.

Can I keep what I catch?
+

Yes. The catch goes home with you. Filleting at the dock, vacuum sealing and freezing are available, and most guests fly home with a cooler. Marlin are mostly released, with judgement on the day.

Are beginners welcome?
+

Yes, on fishing days. The crew rigs and handles the gear and hands you the rod when something eats. Guided spearfishing needs breath-hold experience and runs on a strict buddy system, which is the only legal way to spearfish in Mexico. Water, ice and snacks are normally aboard.

Ready for the long day?
Send your dates and group size. If the half day is the better fit, we will say so.
